THE THIRD SECRET: “The Sign on the Hill will make Medjugorje a world Marian shrine”
Already now, in the time of the Jubilee of 2025 and after the Nulla Osta of the Church, Medjugorje is in all respects an international Marian sanctuary, from which the Queen of Peace radiates her presence and guides countless souls with her messages.
However, there is no doubt that, in the unfolding of future events, interest in Medjugorje will increasingly increase and will play a fundamental role until the duration of the sign, that is, until the end of the world, as the visionaries say.
Already with the announcement of the first secret, which has as its epicenter the Parish and its inhabitants, in the world mass media (presumably with the exception of dictatorial regimes) the event will arouse curiosity and discussions, albeit with different perspectives. Mirjana herself said, commenting on the first Secret, that it will be talked about for a long time.
There will be a barrage of fire from almost all the mass media, or at least an attempt to disqualify what was announced three days earlier, reducing it to a natural phenomenon. It will not be easy to do so because we know how incapable even science is of accurately predicting dire phenomena.
Even as far as the Church is concerned, no particular mobilization is to be expected in the three days preceding the event. As St. John Paul II said in Fulda, a great persecution is always necessary for the Church to undertake a spiritual renewal.
It will be very important what the Parish of Medjugorje will decide, in particular the Papal Delegate who, in this regard, will ask Rome for instructions. I don’t think anyone is able to imagine what they will be.
Some say the Church could ignore the event and let the Parishioners decide freely. Obviously I believe that the Church, in accordance with the Nulla Osta, should take the situation in hand and trust the Seers and the Madonna.
In any case, the first two events, which took place after being announced three days before, will become a test of no small importance for the Church, and a topic on which to express itself with due clarity.
With the manifestation of the promised sign on the hill of the first apparitions, the position of Medjugorje and the Secrets of Our Lady will begin to become relevant both in the Church and in the world.
On the one hand, the very nature of the “indestructible and durable” sign will attract the attention of many non-believers, if only to try to explain it or destroy it. On the other hand, the fact that it is “beautiful” and that it “comes from the Lord” will be an invitation for the Church to officially recognize the apparitions.
In Mary’s plan, the place of Medjugorje has a central position already with the beginning of the apparitions and will remain so as long as the sign on Podbrdo will last. Some may not like this predilection of Our Lady for the village of Herzegovina. But this is what the Queen has decided for her last apparitions on earth.
