The Ten Secrets of Medjugorje: What We Know

First of all we know the number of the Secrets: they are Ten like the plagues of Egypt and this comparison is not accidental. In fact they are a divine intervention in history to free his people subjugated by the infernal Pharaoh and his followers.
The events of the secrets concern the Church and the world, but in particular the Church because they are aimed at saving it through the work of Mary, Mother of the Church, and the triumph of her Immaculate Heart.
According to what Father Petar reported on Radio Maria, for each Secret, three days beforehand it is revealed what happens, where it happens, the exact moment it happens, and how long each event lasts.
The first two events of the secrets involve Medjugorje. These are, as Mirjana revealed in an interview with Father Petar, disastrous natural events, but which will have the purpose of making people regain “spiritual sight” and purify their hearts from worldliness.
The third secret is the only one that comes directly from the Lord and is a sign that will suddenly appear on the hill of the first apparitions (Podbrdo), also foretold three days before. All the visionaries have seen the promised sign in a vision and describe it as “beautiful, indestructible and durable”, but there are no clues to imagine what it is.
The sign is given as proof to the Church and the world that the apparitions are true and that Our Lady has come from Heaven to earth every day since June 24, 1981, and will continue to do so as long as the last visionary is alive. After that there will be no more apparitions on earth, Our Lady specified in two messages.
Our Lady revealed in a message that many will go to see the sign, they will kneel but will not believe. This prophecy will divide minds and hearts and will open the time of the seven plagues, as one could call the secrets from the fourth to the tenth.
How long the time of the ten secrets will last is not given to us to know, as we do not even know the distance of time from one Secret to the next. We can however think that there is a certain duration for the first three Secrets, to give humanity and the Church time to reflect. Then the succession could be more rapid.
Our Lady said that the Cross built on Krizevac in 1933, to celebrate the anniversary of the Redemption, is part of God’s plan. This suggests that the year of the end of the Secrets and the triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary is 2033, that is, two thousand years since the fulfillment of the Redemption with the sacrifice of Christ on the Cross.
This reflection has its value because Our Lady also wanted to celebrate in Medjugorje, on August 5, 1984, with three days of prayer and fasting, the two thousandth anniversary of her birth.
The events of the secrets have the purpose of converting the world to the true faith which is the Catholic one, whose “stone” chosen by Christ is the Roman Pontiff. The events of this conversion will be above all the prophecy of Mary on the ten events that will happen and the permanence on the hill of the apparition of the mysterious sign, which comes from the Lord, which is indestructible and which will last until the end of the world. The rest will be done by the Holy Spirit and the testimony of faith and love of believers.
This impressive panorama regarding the secrets of Medjugorje has lasted since Christmas 1982, when Our Lady revealed the last Secret to Mirjana. Since then there have been no changes and this is proof that it is not of human origin. It is a divine plan of salvation, which goes beyond all understanding and imagination. We have no idea what will happen, what events are involved, what places will be indicated, how many people will be involved, how many will perish and how many will be saved and enter the time of peace.
In any case, it is a grandiose saving intervention by God through Mary our Mother, to whom we must entrust ourselves and trustingly follow her guidance until we reach the goal of salvation.
