To have a complete picture of the events of the Secrets of Medjugorje, from the fourth to the tenth, it is necessary to take into account two texts of great importance, which are written by John Paul II and Lucia of Fatima.

Saint John Paul II, even before the attempt on his life, revealed in the Abbey of Fulda in Germany (November 19, 1980) important elements of the Secrets of Fatima that were not known at that time.

These are catastrophes due to nature or war and a great persecution of the Church, which was made known with the text of the third Secret of Fatima published on June 20 during the Great Jubilee of 2000.

The Holy Father was asked: “What can you tell us about the Third Secret of Fatima? Shouldn’t it have been published in 1960?”

Pope John Paul II responded: “Given the seriousness of its contents, my predecessors in the papal throne preferred the diplomatic solution of postponing its publication, so as not to encourage the world force of communism to make certain moves.

On the other hand, it should be enough for every Christian to know this: if there is a message in which it is written that the oceans will flood entire areas of the earth, and that millions of people will lose their lives suddenly, from one minute to the next, then truly the publication of such a message is no longer something so desirable.”

The Pope continued: “Many want to know only out of curiosity and for the sake of the sensational, but they forget that knowledge also brings with it responsibility.

They only want to satisfy their curiosity, and this is dangerous if at the same time one is not willing to do anything, and if one is convinced that it is impossible to do anything against evil.”

At this point the Pope grabbed the Rosary and said: “Here is the medicine against this evil! Pray, pray and ask for nothing more. Leave everything else to Our Lady!”

The Holy Father was then asked: “What will happen to the Church?”

He replied: “We must prepare ourselves to face great trials in the near future, which may even require the sacrifice of our lives and our total dedication to Christ and for Christ.

With your prayers and mine it will be possible to mitigate these tribulations, but it is no longer possible to avoid them, because a true renewal in the Church can only happen in this way.

How many times has the renewal of the Church already sprung from blood! This time it will not be different. We must be strong and prepared, trust in Christ and in his Mother, and recite the prayer of the Holy Rosary very, very assiduously”.
