This image holds special significance for Mexican Catholics. According to tradition, an Aztec man named Juan Diego claimed that Mary appeared to him several times in visions in 1531. She reportedly requested a shrine be built on Tepayac Hill, now a suburb of Mexico City.
When Diego shared this message with the bishop, he was asked for proof. Following another encounter with Mary, Diego returned with roses and a miraculous image of the Virgin imprinted on his cloak, or “tilma.”
This image, revered by pilgrims at the Basilica of Guadalupe, is seen as a symbol of Mary’s love and protection for the Americas. Pope John Paul II canonized Diego in 2002 and declared Our Lady of Guadalupe the Marian heart of America.
My visit to Medjugore in 1996 was Divine
intervention from Mother Mary preparing me for the coming illness and passing of my dear Mother, Laura, and best friend. Mary knew how devastated I would be and the Graces showered on me to make this trip are a
beautiful example of how She cares for Her
children. So many signs and spiritual gifts were given to me on that trip and after. This is a special gift to so many that really needs to be shared with the world. Thank you, Mother Mary and our loving God for this
Divine gift💞🙏🕊
